The French government is abandoning a fuel tax hike which has led to weeks of violent protests.
They've spread into wider demonstrations against President Emmanuel Macron's economic policies - and become his biggest challenge in office so far.
French protesters welcome Macron's decision to scrap the fuel tax rise planned for next year but said it may not be enough to contain public anger.
